Audi A3: Winner of the AFI FEST filmmakers contest

3 A3s. 3 filmmaking teams. 3 unforgettable cross-country treks. Audi's search for the best 15-minute short film showcasing the all-new A3 may have come to an end, but for enthusiasts of this exhilarating car, the journey is just beginning.
During an online celebration on August 10th, celebrity judges Joshua Jackson (Dawson's Creek, Aurora Borealis), Emily Mortimer (The Pink Panther, Lovely & Amazing), and James Cromwell (L.A. Confidential, I, Robot), along with representatives from Audi and AFI, chose the winning film from three superb entries. In doing so, they agreed with the results of more than 5,000 People's Choice votes cast by site visitors over the course of the contest. To find out which filmmaker won and view all three entries, take a Step Ahead online with the Audi A3.
Those who participated in the "People's Choice Voting" online and registered for the associated contest are also anticipating the chance to take an A3-inspired journey of their own. That winner will receive a trip for two to Los Angeles to attend the November AFI FEST 2005 presented by Audi, as well as the use of an all-new A3 during their trip.*

The buzz-creating A3 AFI contest mirrors the enthusiasm for the car itself, across the industry and among drivers. AutoWeek has already designated the A3 one of its 10 Hot Cars for 2005. And the editors at CanadianDriver have this to say: “Audi has set the tone for interior design and appointments and the A3 enhances this reputation. Quality and class are evident everywhere you look and touch, and the ergonomics are right on….What a great little engine the 2.0 T is, with a turbocharger helping it come up with 200 horsepower and terrific low end grunt not usually associated with a car of this size.”
Road trip, anyone?
