Audi Imperator: Debut at Pebble Beach

Audi Imperator
Fourtitude is reporting that the last known Audi Imperator, a pre-war Audi Type R and Audi's first 8-cylinder will take place in the most important Concours D'Elegance in the USA tomorrow.
The AUDI Imperator, also known as the AUDI Type R, will take part in the most reknowned automotive beauty competition in the United States of America – the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance.

This first 8-Cylinder AUDI in the history of the company will debut August 21, 2005 in California.

The AUDI Imperator comes fresh from ist recent presentation in Lorbeeren. A few weeks ago the 1929 AUDI also won the Concours D’Elegance of Cranbrook in Michigan. The vehicle has ist work cut out for it, following last year’s "Best of Show“ at Pebble Beach won by an Auto Union vehicle – a rare 1938 Horch 853A Erdmann and Rossi Sport Cabriolet.

The AUDI Imperator is rarer still – there is only one in the world. In 2003, the car was restored by AUDI Tradition.

The Nearly 17-foot long vehicle was discovered near the end of the 1990’s in Saxonia and acquired by AUDI Tradition.

Only 145 Imperators were built and sold over the years, with 100-hp being produced by its 5-liter engine.

If you have a chance to go there you should check this great car!
