VW Phaeton: Outstrips more established luxury cars

Korean newspaper Chosun is writing that the VW Phaeton is outstripping more established luxury cars.

Volkswagen’s Phaeton with its 6,000㏄ capacity and 12 cylinder engine headed sales of luxury import cars last month.

The market, however, is tiny. The Korean Imports and Distributors Association said Monday six Phaeton W12 6.0 models, five Audi A8 6.0, four Mercedes-Benz S600 and three BMW 760Li were sold in July.

Volkswagen said sales contracts for the Phaeton altogether reached 210 units since the model was launched last April, while 21 Phaeton W12 6.0s were sold from April through July, second only to the 25 Audi A8 6s.
