VW: Talks with DaimlerChrysler confirmed!

Maybe you have read our article here yesterday about the supposed talks between VW and DaimlerChrysler for a cooperation in the US market. The rumoured goal is to produce a van based on the upcoming Chrysler Voyager.
Today these talks have been confirmed by VW in Germany!
This comes to no surprise because Dr. Bernhard (VW) and Mr. Zetsche (DaimlerChrysler) are old friends from common DC times and actually Dr. Bernhard developed the new Chrysler Voyager when he was working at DC.
VW's goal for such a van is 30.000 sold units per year for around $30.000. The VW van will get an independent design and the interior will also look different.
