Audi A3: A great new car

Audi A3 Sportback
"Easy Reader" took a look at the Audi A3 Sportback and found out that it's "a great new car". No surprise for us and our readers, but they were very impressed about the Audi A3.
Call it the aftermath of the SUV craze, but it seems that everybody wants utility in their vehicles. Whether it’s a full-blown wagon, pickup truck with fold-down pass through, or even a roof rack on a Porsche Boxster – and yes, we’ve seen one – we’re asking more from our cars than ever before.

So this makes it a perfect time for Audi to introduce its new A3 model, offering the performance, quality and great style we’ve come to expect from the brand in a new 5-door hatchback/small wagon body style.

Currently, the A3 is offered one way, with a new 200–horsepower, 4-cylinder engine and your choice of 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. If you’re wondering what happened to the carmaker’s famous Quattro all-wheel-drive, it will be available in early 2006 powered by a 3.2-liter, 250 horsepower V6. After driving our tester, we’re not sure we’d wait – the current car is that good.

The great looks would probably sell this car alone, but the driving experience is what really sets the A3 apart from its competition.

We think the combination of great new technologies, expressive style, Audi quality and performance along with a versatile hatchback design and extremely attractive pricing make the A3 an exciting new player in the marketplace.
