Audi Q7 Hybrid: The hybrid Q

Audi Q7 Hybrid
Cars guide has a report about the Audi Q7 hybrid which was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
German carmakers have finally come around to hybrid power.

Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche all confirmed they will build petrol/electric hybrid models in the next few years, and at this week's Frankfurt Motor Show even BMW announced it will develop hybrid technology.

But these carmakers, who lag behind Japanese brands Toyota and Honda when it comes to fuel-efficient hybrids, are not convinced hybrid technology is the way to go.

Audi, which revealed its new large four-wheel-drive Q7 will be available with hybrid power in 2008, admits the main driving factor for the hybrid move is US tastes.
