Audi A4 2.0T: Coolness on wheels

Toronto based "Globe and Mail" has a nice article about the Audi A4 2.0T.
Some cars just have a kind of coolness about them. Like James Dean or Marlon Brando, it's not something you can put your finger on; they just have a certain je ne sais quoi that's all their own and look poised in every situation.
Some BMWs have it; so do certain models of Ferrari. Ditto with some Mercedes models, Alfa Romeos, and Jaguars. Some got it, most don't.
Audi's A4 series most definitely has "it." That intangible, elusive ingredient that some car makers can only aspire to.
In fact, the A4 has had it going on for at least the past 10 years -- ever since they changed body styles back in the 1990s. Simple clean lines, thoughtfully designed interior, state-of-the-art drive trains. You look at the A4 and wonder why other manufacturers can't do the same thing.
For '06, the A4 retains its coolness, although to my eyes, not quite as much. The attractive "jelly-bean" body is still there, but the front-end treatment, in particular, detracts from the overall elegance of the car's styling.
