Audi Asso di Picche: The little-known Audi concept coupé

Audi Asso di Picche
Fourtitude has a great article about the Audi Asso di Picche, a little-known concept coupé from 1973.
Audi is a brand rich in memorable concepts and design studies. The company even maintains a collection of these cars displayed on a giant rotisserie at its Museum Mobile in Ingolstadt. Names like Avus and quattro Spyder are virtually as well known as modern concepts like the Le Mans or Pikes Peak. Considering all that, here’s a real head scratcher for even the most ardent Audiphile. Ever heard of the Audi Asso di Picche?

Likely the answer is no. The Asso di Picche (Italian for ‘Ace of Spades) was built in essential limbo, commissioned by Karmann Coachworks and built by Giorgetto Giugiaro's design firm Italdesign. This wasn’t exactly a mainstream Audi concept.
