Volkswagen: Tighter cooperation with DaimlerChrysler

VW
German newspaper "Die Welt" is reporting that Volkswagen is looking for a tighter cooperation with DaimlerChrysler. Both companies are said to already prepare a contract about the basic principles of this cooperation. This was confirmed by Volkswagen's chairman Bernd Pischetsrieder in "Auto Motor Sport".
He said: "We are talking about that since 2001. Now strategy teams on both sides are talking about a list of different projects.".
Talks right now are about a van-project which could be finished this year.
Further cooperation is possible for the VW Polo and Dodge models.
It's also said that there will be no cooperation between Audi and DaimlerChrysler.
