VW Golf: Also popular in the Far East

German website "Autosieger" let us know that the VW Golf is also popular in the Far East.
It was the most successful September in VW's history and the VW Golf was the main reason for it: it scored a plus of 27.4 percent in the asia-pacific region for the VW Golf and VW Golf GTI.

In addition to the sales record the Japanese "car of the year" jury voted for the VW Golf as "import car of the year", the Hong Kong consumer counsil voted it "the safest European car 2005". Five awards came from Australia and New Zealand.
Two new awards are coming from Indonesia: "Car of the year 2005" for the VW Golf and for the VW Golf GTI "car with the best acceleration", "best handling" and "most innovative transmission" for the DSG.
