Audi: Title sponsor of World Cup ski event in Beaver Creek

Audi of America is official title sponsor of World Cup ski event in Beaver Creek.

Audi is known for its international involvement with competitive skiing, and will serve as title sponsor of the FIS Ski World Cup event in Beaver Creek, Colorado. The World Cup Events’ traditional U.S. season opener is scheduled for December 1-5. Audi has been supporting World Cup Events for more than 12 years. This year, again as title sponsor, Audi will have a dominant presence during the 2005/2006 season's top events.

In addition to this year’s FIS Ski World Cup title sponsorship from Audi AG, Audi of America is pleased to commit to the United States Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) to be the title sponsor of the Men’s World Cup Super-G Ski Race on Thursday, December 1st. “Audi of America is pleased to join our German headquarters in sponsoring World Cup Events,” said Stephen Berkov, director of marketing for Audi of America. “The incredible caliber of the World Cup skiers and the high ethical standards of the FIS make Audi extremely proud to begin our affiliation with this organization and its membership.”

The FSI World Cup event is only part of Audi’s ongoing involvement with the international skiing community. Audi has supported the Alpine Ski World Cup – named the "Audi FIS Ski World Cup” since the 2002/2003 season – as the title sponsor for the last three years. In addition, Audi was the presenting sponsor of the Alpine Ski World Cup staged in Bormio, Italy at the beginning of the year and one of the principal sponsors of the Nordic Ski World Championship in Oberstdorf, Germany.

As main sponsor of the German Ski Association (DSV) and also partner to the Swedish, Finnish, French and Swiss national teams, Audi far exceeds the role of a financial sponsor. In addition to the vehicles that Audi provides for the athletes, officials, and trainers, the sportsmen and women also benefit by regularly training at the Audi’s state-of-the-art facility, the Audi Wind Tunnel Centre in Ingolstadt.
