Bugatti Veyron: Leaves Ferrari in the dust!

Bugatti Veyron
Can you imagine to buy a car which you have never seen in a showroom? Seems like NY'ers are different. Or maybe it's the Bugatti Veyron which makes you different.
With a $1.2 million price tag and a top speed of 253 mph, the new Bugatti Veyron is the most expensive way to go nowhere fast on New York's clogged roads.

But the fact that the space-age sports car won't get you across the Gowanus Expressway any quicker than the VW Golf in the next lane isn't deterring the filthy rich from placing orders.

A half-dozen people have already put down $400,000 deposits for the Veyron through Miller Motor Cars in Greenwich, Conn., the only dealer authorized to sell the two-seater in the tristate area.

"There's been a lot of interest and we haven't even advertised it yet," said Miller Motor President Richard Koppelman, describing the buyers as Wall Street types, entrepreneurs and collectors.

Since there's no model on display in the showroom, some of the customers flew to the factory in France to try the Veyron.

"This isn't like being in a Concorde at takeoff. It's much, much more impressive," a writer for London's Daily Mail reported after a test drive.
