Bugatti Veyron: Ready for US launch

Bugatti Veyron
The Bugatti Veyron is ready for its US launch.
After a seven-year wait, Volkswagen AG is set to launch the super-luxury Bugatti Veyron, a $1 million two-seater that goes from zero to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, in early 2006 at a handful of Bentley dealerships across the United States.

The car will be sold in select cities, including Troy, Michigan; Greenwich, Connecticut; and Pasadena, California. It will be shown at the upcoming Los Angeles auto show. VW hopes to sell about 300 vehicles in the next five years. The Veyron is outfitted with a rear-mounted 16-cylinder engine with 1,001 horsepower. It has a top speed of 252.9 mph.
