Lamborghini Gallardo: Powered by Hamann
Hamann took a Lamborghini Gallardo and modified it to meet the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 (higher price) and even the Lamborghini Gallardo SE (lower performance).
A standard 493-hp Lamborghini Gallardo is already one of the fastest street cars around Nürburgring’s Nordschleife, at around seven minutes, 45 seconds. Predictions for the 512-hp 2006 Gallardo SE, with shorter ratios between first and fifth gears, are around seven minutes, 35 seconds.
So could this Hamann car be the Gallardo that breaks the mystical 7:30 mark around the north loop? Now that we’ve had a drive in one on country roads around Hamann HQ in Germany, we have to say it feels capable of that.
Though with the 2006 Gallardo SE and GTR versions coming along to steal some of the attention from this Hamann Gallardo, the workmanship on this car is spotless and the package is actually affordable compared to investing in a GTR. The power and overall drive of this Hamann are slightly superior to the SE.
“I like this Gallardo drive better than what we’ve done with the Ferrari F430,” admits a Hamann spokesperson. “Power delivery and road-holding are tremendous at high lateral gs and even higher revs. And the look is pure supercar.”
