VW Jetta: Coming to South Africa in March 2006

VW Jetta
The VW Jetta will come to South Africa in March 2006. The South African Jetta is produced there and exclusively available for this market.
Pricing and specification for the new Volkswagen Jetta have been confirmed ahead of its UK launch in February 2006. Prices start at the equivalent of R161 500 for the entry-level model – the 75kW, 1.6-litre Jetta S.

The new Jetta will be in South African showrooms a month later but our cars will be assembled in South Africa - the only place outside Mexico where this model will be produced.

The Jetta will be offered with a choice of five engines;

# 1.9-litre TDI (77kW)
# 2.0-litre TDI (105kW)
# 1.6-litre petrol (75kW)
# 2.0-litre FSI (110kW)
# 2.0-litre T-FSI Turbo (150kW) – as seen in the Golf GTI.

The diesels will be available with VW's DSG automatic gearbox.

All Jettas will have multi-link rear suspension and electro-mechanical power steering.
