Audi Roadjet: Video of the world premiere!

Audi Roadjet
We have a video of the world premiere of the Audi Roadjet at the Detroit Motor Show for all of you who can't attend.
Sized in between the current A3 and A4, the Roadjet concept splits the difference between a four-door hatchback and a station wagon. Proudly wearing Audi's trademark trapezoidal grille in size XXL, the Roadjet has LED headlights that look cool but probably won't see production if any number of other concept cars is an indicator. A diffuser out back with twin bisected exhaust outlets complete the sporty yet elegant look. A lavish cabin has a few features to keep car show patrons talking, namely a fifth "child seat" behind the second row; a 14-speaker, 1,000-watt Bang and Olufsen audio system; automatic tinting upper windshield (that eliminates the visors); and an espresso machine built into the rear armrest.

The front end's "formidable air intakes" allow the 3.2-liter, direct-injection V6 to breathe deeply. Which it will, given that it boasts "Audi Valvelift" technology that helps it produce 300 hp and 236 lb-ft. The brawny six-shooter is hitched to a seven-speed direct-shift gearbox (DSG) which, thanks to a twin-clutch setup, has the ability to "preselect" the next gear, making ultraquick changes a snap. Audi pegs the 0-60-mph time at 6.3 seconds and claims 22.6 mpg.

Of course the Roadjet has Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system. But it also has "Audi Drive Select" which allows one of three suspension settings — Comfort, Dynamic and Sport. Throttle mapping and steering assist are also varied, meaning quicker throttle response and less power steering assist compared to the Comfort mode.
