Lamborghini Miura: Brought back to life!

South African "Motoring" has a nice article about the Lamborghini Miura, we reported yesterday about it.

And get yourself seated: it will be really shown at the Detroit Motor Show next week! Great news.

The original Miura was designed by Marcello Gandini and shown at the 1966 Geneva motor show by Ferruccio Lamborghini and Nuccio Bertone. To this day it is widely recognised as one of the most beautiful cars ever created.

De' Silva has redesigned every aspect of the car, refining the contours and eliminating superfluous detail while remaining faithful to the original shape.

There are touches of contemporary styling in the wheels, headlights and interior, while the lower part of the body has been redesigned to improve both structural integrity and aerodynamic performance without disturbing the classic look.

"Over the last two years I have dreamed of redesigning the Miura," explained De' Silva.

"Now, thanks to my new position as head of Lamborghini design and the enthusiastic support of Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann I've been able to make dream a reality."
