VW Golf: Successor coming already in 2008?

German yellow press "Bild" is reporting that there might be a successor, the VW Golf VI, of the VW Golf coming already in autumn 2008, after just 5 years with the current VW Golf!

It's also said that there might be only two versions of the VW Golf available, instead of 3 now:
1. A coupé-like VW Golf with just 2 doors as seen on the picture above
2. A van-like version of the VW Golf similar to the VW Golf Plus now which is right now only available in Europe

The reason for the early replacement is said to be the strong competition.
