Audi: More than 1 million units possible!

After a great start to 2006 with around 18% plus in terms of sales figures, Audi's head Dr. Winterkorn is predicting that more than 1 million units are possible!

Volkswagen AG's Audi unit head Martin Winterkorn told Welt am Sonntag the brand can achieve annual sales of more than 1 mln units going forward, without saying when it would reach the sales target.

'In 2005 we sold 829,000 cars, and I don't think 1 mln is our limit, growth will continue beyond that,' Winterkorn told the newspaper.

Winterkorn expects strong growth to occur in Audi's Korean, Russian and Indian markets.

In addition, he said the new Q7 SUV will contribute significantly to 2006 sales.

Audi has already received 11,300 advance orders for the vehicle.
