Porsche: Hello!

Porsche

Dear Readers,

My name is Nik and I am the new editor for Porsche News at The German Car Blog. I aim to cover articles from websites and magazines across the world, to provide the very latest news on Stuttgart’s famous car brand.

I must confess that my love for cars comes from a very early age, especially German cars.
My speciality lies mainly within the Volkswagen group, Porsche and BMW. I have to say; I have always greatly appreciated Porsche cars, but my real love started much more recently. About 6 months ago, my father ordered the Cayenne SUV. Although I strongly recommended that he ordered the Touareg or the upcoming Q7, he went for Porsche alternative. The main reason was the badge, nothing else. I assumed the Porsche would be cheaply finished, a hassle to run and would breakdown frequently. I was completely wrong, and after the test drive I was just as convinced as my father. The detail that Porsche have put in is unbelievable; it really does make you feel like a King! The dash is clear and easy to use, and is very practical. And at the same time, it handles like a Porsche should.

My interest continued, and we test drove the new Boxster – which was great and then the new Cayman S – which was even better! I also managed to get a chance to sit in an extremely rare Carrera GT – the Porsche alternative to a Mercedes SLR. I then started to realise that Porsche cars are much better than what I thought and not just jacked up VW’s or Audi’s as some critics would say. Hence, I've become a Porsche enthusiast and will be sharing my knowledge over the coming days.

As a fanatic, there is nothing more frustrating than reading an incorrect article, or outdated news. This is another reason why I will be writing for GCB, with the intention of eradicating this problem, and providing current and interesting news all in one place.

I hope the introduction of Porsche news to The German Car Blog is a success and if in the mean time there are any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me at nik.porsche[at]gmail.com.

Thank you for your interest!

Nik
