VW Golf: Model year 2007 update

VW Golf
Here is some information about the update on the VW Golf for the model year 2007.
Some small changes for the VW Golf M.Y. 2007. The new 1.4 TSI twin-charger will be available also in its 140 hp version, with 220 Nm of torque. Performance data is pretty interesting: it goes from 0-100 km/h in 8.8 seconds while average consumption is 7.0 liters per 100 km.

Prices in Germany start from 20.375 € in the Comfortline version. This price is slightly lower than the price for the Golf 2.0 FSI. The naturally aspirated 2.0 FSI engine has 150 hp, but it's slower than the 1.4 TSI with 140 hp, it has an higher average fuel consumption and it costs more. I wonder if it will remain long in the model range.

Another change: the "base" 1.4 naturally aspirated engine gains some power (from 75 to 80 hp) but it remains woefully under-powered. At least the price goes up only 100 €. These new engines will also be available on the Golf Plus.
