Another preview of the VW Polo GTI.

Enter the latest performance Golf's little brother - the Polo GTI. Volkswagen doesn't hand out its hallowed three-letter tag without good reason, and the firm says it has moulded the Polo into a genuine thrill-seeker. Auto Express put it to the test in the UK to see if the conservative supermini has a wild side.

The new Polo flagship certainly looks the part. Wearing the family's recently revised nose, the hot model resembles a leaner, slimmer version of its big brother. The black honeycomb grille and 16-inch alloy wheels give a classy finish.

But at £14,810, the hot Polo is more than £5,000 cheaper than the Golf GTI. The newcomer is a feisty little hatch that won't fail to raise a smile.
