Audi: Project Daedalus with Ivalo

In the true spirit of Audi design comes Project Daedalus. At the 2006 International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) the combined efforts of Audi and Ivalo Lighting unveiled an advanced prototype of Ivalo's 5th family of light fixtures code named Project Daedalus - designed by the Audi Design Center in Santa Monica, California.
Lifestyle
Audi Design: award-winning, forward-thinking, progressive. Our philosophy constantly evolves as we respond to inspirations that span cultures, industries, and our surrounding environments.
In that spirit, we have been proud to participate in Project Daedalus, a Design Project with Ivalo. The first product in this lighting fixture family, a chandelier created by a dynamic helical central section, debuted at the 18th annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair. From May 20-23, 2006, visitors to the Jacob Javitz Convention Center in New York City were able to see what happens when Audi imaginations and design principles are applied to design in a completely new discipline and environment.
For this 5th family in the collection, Ivalo selected Audi because the organization shares Ivalo's passion for purposeful innovation, attention to detail, dedication to comprehensive execution, and a deep understanding of the man/machine interface. The resulting fixture balances delicacy and softness with the sculptural precision and dynamism that are the hallmarks of the Audi design language.
