Audi A5 convertible: To be build in-house

Audi A5
The Audi A5 convertible, successor of the Audi A4 convertible, seems to be build in-house and not at Karmann anymore.
The lower-premium softtop will debut in autumn 2008 and will replace the A4 softtop convertible.

German coachbuilder Karmann currently builds the A4 softtop.

The A5 convertible will be built at Audi’s factory in Neckarsulm, Germany. The A5 coupe, which debuts at the end of the year, will be built in Ingolstadt.

Audi will use the A5 name for its lower-premium coupe and convertible models. The A4 will be built only in sedan and station wagon variants.
