Audi R8: More spy shots!

We found some more spy shots of the Audi R8!
Well, the lords of the Four Rings appear to be on a roll, as the production version of Le Mans Quattro concept from 2003’s Frankfurt Motor Show is almost here, and it looks sensational.
Caught lollygagging in Germany’s Black Forest by Hans Lehmann of Hidden Image, Audi’s pending Porsche 911 rival is clearly almost ready for its close-up. With just a few bits of black tape reshaping the headlamps and some artful red adhesive on its rump bridging the lights, the design appears as if it will handle transitioning from one-off to production line gracefully.
Up front, the main difference from the concept is the replacement of the show car’s dramatic LED headlamp treatments with more conventional projector-beam units. The hood, grille, and front lip have all been subtly reworked as well, though the net impact remains the same. Out back, the Frankfurt car’s twin center-mounted exhaust pipes have sadly been replaced by a pair of round tail pipes on each side, but they remain nicely integrated.
