VW CrossGolf: Paris Motor Show report

Here's a booth report about the VW CrossGolf. Enjoy!
First things first: while the CrossGolf goes for a quasi-SUV look, it's still a front-drive-only vehicle. Like its cousin, the CrossPolo, the CrossGolf gets Audi Allroad-like trim on the bumpers and rockers. It also shares its younger brother's wheel design and gets a nice set of silver roof rails. Unfortunately, like the CrossPolo, it won't be available here.
Based on the tall-bodied Golf Plus, the CrossGolf offers a roomy and flexible interior for a car its size, and can be had with a little zip underhood. The two top engines are the 1.4 TSI and the 2.0TDI, each of which makes 140 horsepower. The base engines ( one gas, one diesel) are significantly less powerful. The 1.4 TSI and both TDI powerplants can be had with the DSG direct shift gearbox. a feature VW is quickly spreading around its lineup.
