Audi TT RS: To target the Porsche Cayman

Audi TT RS
The Audi TT RS is expected to rival the Porsche Cayman.
Audi is planning to expand its TT range further into Porsche Cayman territory with an RS version that will have 350bhp, according to inside sources. The engine is reckoned to be a five-cylinder 2.5-litre unit employing twin turbos to boost power beyond that of the Cayman S.

The TT RS is expected to out-perform its Porsche rival with a 0-62mph time of 5.0 seconds, but top speed is likely to be limited to 155mph as with Audi's other RS models.

Audi is yet to confirm the TT RS but insiders say it will be on sale in Europe in the middle of 2008.
