The evolution of the Porsche 911 has given us some of our most cherished enthusiast icons: the delicate but angry 1970 ST and ’73 Carrera RS, the storming sequence of Turbo 911s, the mighty 964 and 993 RS, and in 1999 the GT3. Named after and conceived for the FIA sporting category of the time, the GT3 was less about shedding kilos and more about speed, technology and driver-focused dynamics.
