VW Passat 4Motion: Coming to South Africa
The VW Passat 4Motion has arrived in South Africa.
At R339 000 it's not the most affordable Vee-Dub on the planet, but it’s certainly huge value for money. It’s got a brand new look, all fresh and stylish, chromed up, bigger, sportier, and just so much better than any of its ugly sisters before it. Plus, of course, apart from every conceivable luxury, it’s also a terrific performance car.
Bells and whistles such as great leather seats and steering wheel, front fog lights, the largest boot I’ve seen yet, I think, (I almost had to climb inside it to retrieve some files that had slid to the back), and that V6 3.2-litre engine married to Volkswagen’s all-wheel drive system, which is where the 4Motion in the name comes from.
VW highlights that it delivers 184kW at 6200prm and a not too shabby 320Nm at 3200rpm, hurtling you from 0-100km/h in a pretty damn brisk 6.9sec.
In fact, so impressed was my eight-year-old with this that she’s now switched allegiances, and declared that “this is the car I’m buying when I’m big”.
