VW SportVan: Premium market concept killed!

VW SportVan
The new head of Volkswagen, Dr. Martin Winterkorn, has killed a premium market concept internally called VW Tourer aka VW SportVan which was ordered by VW's former head Wolfgang Bernhard. That's already at least the third decision pulled back after the order for re-design of the next-generation VW Golf and the re-entry of the VW Phaeton to the US market with the next version.

The VW SportVan was planned for 2009/2010 and should have rivaled the Mercedes R class by having 6 seats. Since the Mercedes R class is recognized as a flop inside the Volkswagen Group, this decision sounds natural.
