Audi: Why BMW and Mercedes fear Audi

Audi
Great article here about why Mercedes and BMW fear Audi's rising star. In addition, you can read a hilarious comment from a BMW manager.
BMW versus Mercedes-Benz is one of the car industry's classic rivalries, but Munich and Stuttgart will have noticed their German counterparts from Ingolstadt looming ever closer in their rear view mirrors.

Audi has long played the No.3 role in this German prestige-brand triumvirate, but is now growing faster than either BMW or Mercedes both globally and here in Australia.

A senior BMW source in Europe, not wishing to be named, admitted to drive.com.au that Audi had become a force to be reckoned with, despite also adding a criticism.

"In the future Audi will be very strong," says the BMW insider. "They are becoming a worthy competitor. Perhaps Audi leads BMW in refinement but I think they rarely show innovation. Mostly they copy other companies."
