Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera: A heavy hitter

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera
Nice word play here from South Africa. However they also love the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera.
You can feel the Audi influence right away. The Gallardo has no obvious Audi parts but there's a delicious crispness, accuracy and quality about the way it's made. And it looks starkly gorgeous, with its crisp-edged curves and ludicrously short snout.

Climb in, belt up (a struggle with the optional four-point race harnesses), turn the key (no gimmicky start-button here). Behind me erupts the sonic signature typical of a potent V10, the half-octave harmonic maelstrom we used to hear from Formula 1 cars during pit stops before F1 went V8. Into gear; the lever moves in an open-plan gate, a deliciously precise click of metal on metal. E-gear! Pah! It's just for PlayStation-fixated people who think they should be in F1.
