Porsche Cayenne: South African review

Porsche Cayenne
Nice review here of the new Porsche Cayenne and its new engines.
Ettore Bugatti once said WO Bentley built "the world's fastest lorries". The 2007 Porsche Cayenne is the modern equivalent of a Speed Six – very big, very comfortable and very, very quick.

The V6 has been enlarged from 3.2 to 3.6 litres; the company quotes 213kW at 6200rpm (up 29kW) and 385Nm at 3000rpm, up from 310Nm. According to Porsche it will accelerate from 0-100km/h in 8.1sec (previously 9.1) and on to a top speed of 227km/h compared to the 214km/h of its predecessor.

Nevertheless, this is a 2130kg, five-seater and the V6 needs to be revved hard to get the best out of it, accompanied by a pleasant but emphatic growl from the six big pots.
