Porsche 928: Sucessor coming based on Porsche Panamera?

Is Porsche working on a successor for the Porsche 928 based on the Porsche Panamera?

According to the source, the two-door Panamera is the car that Wiedeking was originally talking about when he first mentioned it in his 2003 speech, and that the coupe is currently being developed alongside the four-door.

Porsche engineers looked at the development of the Bentley Continental GT, which is based on the Phaeton sedan from Volkswagen, when designing the new coupe. However, the Porsche has to be a high-performance sports coupe rather than a comfortable GT, so engineers will employ extensive use of light weight alloys and have ruled out the option of a big V12. Unfortunately, execs within the Volkswagen umbrella are fearful that the Porsche coupe and Bentley GT would be too similar in price and attract the same type of customers, but let’s hope the rumors prove true.
