Audi Q7: Made for road trips

Audi Q7
The Audi Q7 is made for road trips according to Ed Hellwig from Inside Line. And who are we to argue about that?
For one, it's has serious range. I topped it off in L.A. before leaving and made it all the way to Cedar City, Utah on one tank. Total miles: just over 440. And that's with Utah's 75mph speed limit. With a lighter foot, I think it could break 500 miles.

Two, it's very comfortable and road trip friendly. I rarely felt cramped in the seats and the cabin is quiet in terms of both wind and road noise. Big cupholders swallow liter bottles of water and there's plenty of snack space in the center console.

Three, warm weather doesn't faze this SUV. The outside temperature gauge read between 100 and 116 degrees for most of the trip, yet I never the saw the engine temperature needle move off its position at dead center on the gauge.

Four, satellite radio is made for trips like this. Combined with the Q7's excellent speaker system, I almost forgot that I was driving through the radio wasteland that is southern Utah.
