VW: Returning to Formula 3 Championship

VW
VW will return to its Formula 3 Championship roots by providing engines for 2 teams as a start.
Between 1979 and 1991 Volkswagen enjoyed a lot of success, winning 7 titles, with drivers like Michael Schumacher and Tom Kristensen. Its first engine will make the race debut at Nurburgring race track in September.
Kris Nissen, Volkswagen’s motorsport director said that the German automaker wants to demonstrate that the engine already performed at high level during its early stags of development, and that in the future it will be considered a potential race winning engine.
