Audi R8: Coming soon with optional all LED headlights

The Audi R8 will come soon with optional all LED headlights!

Audi said what is the first all-LED headlight in the industry will debut as an option on the Audi R8. It did not specify the time frame for that new feature, but hinted it likely would be in the near future.

The German automaker said the R8 would get headlight units with 54 LED light sources, making up the turn signals, the dipped beam and main beam headlights. It said there were several benefits to the high-tech headlights, including low energy consumption, "more pleasant visual perception," a non-wearing design, lower voltage requirements, compact dimensions and increased freedom of design.
