More than 30,000 AUTO ZEITUNG readers have given Volkswagen top marks in the categories “economic efficiency” and “environmental friendliness”. Innovations such as the BlueMotion models which represent the most economical vehicles of their categories have helped define Volkswagen’s image as a brand amongst auto buyers.
According to the auto drivers surveyed, Volkswagen builds the most economical vehicles. The seminal TSI technology which represents greater driving pleasure with lower fuel consumption as well as a wide choice of diesel engines enjoy the best reputation amongst auto buyers.
The BlueMotion models, in particular, distinguish themselves not only through their low fuel consumption but also their low emissions levels. The first model of the series was the Polo BlueMotion which was presented in summer 2006. This impressed with a fuel consumption of 3.8 litres and a CO2 emissions level of 99g/km. In early summer 2007, Volkswagen then launched two further models in this series on the market with the Passat and Passat Variant BlueMotion. The Golf BlueMotion will shortly be unveiled at the International Automobile Exhibition (IAA) in Frankfurt and will be available to buy in the autumn. All this was also honoured by the readers with second place in the category “environmental friendliness”.
