Volkswagen, Porsche: Expanding their collaboration to sales and distribution

Volkswagen and Porsche are looking forward to expand their collaboration to sales and distribution, but also to marketing!

Volkswagen AG plans to expands its cooperation with its largest shareholder Porsche AG to include marketing and distribution, chief executive Martin Winterkorn told manager magazin in an interview.

'Porsche without doubt is a role model regarding marketing and distribution,' he said according to a prerelease of an interview to be published tomorrow.

Volkwagen is currently restructuring its US distribution to reduce losses on the North-American market.

So far, Volkswagen and Porsche have been cooperating in developing a single platform for their Touareg and Cayenne models, in developing hybrid engines and in producing Porsche's Panamera model.

This technical cooperation will also be expanded, Winterkorn said.
