Porsche 911 Carrera S: Reviewed

Porsche 911 Carrera S
Here's a nice review of one of our favorite cars: the Porsche 911 Carrera S.
While no longer the twitchy, tail-happy beast that it once was, the 911 is a sports car that responds to subtle direct inputs behind the wheel a slight turn of the wheel, a gradual application of the throttle or brake. If you know how to drive - really drive - you'd be hard pressed to find a car at any price point that delivers more satisfaction at the limit.

The 911 lineup now includes a staggering 14 different models, from the standard 911 Carrera, the subject of this week's road test, all the way up to the hair-chested 911 RS GT3 and 911 Turbo. The 911 Carrera and don't call it a "base model" because it's anything but starts at $73,500 and comes with a 325-horsepower six-cylinder motor in the traditional Porsche's flat-six layout. In this configuration, the 911 will accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds and keep going to a maximum of 177 mph.
