Volkswagen: Nearing US factory decision?

Volkswagen
We found an interesting interview with Stefan Jacoby, new head of VW of America, who said that a decision about the US factory will be made in a month. Did he slip? Or just made a mistake? We will soon find out.
Volkswagen of America chief executive Stefan Jacoby moved closer today to confirming once and for all that Volkswagen would build a new U.S. assembly plant.

Speaking at the Automotive News World Congress in Detroit, Jacoby said local production was a key part of Volkswagen’s growth plan for the United States and said a decision would come soon about a plant.

“We will make an announcement within the month … months,” Jacoby said, quickly adding a little extra time for formally announcing the plant.

At the Los Angeles auto show in November, Jacoby told the Free Press that VW had already made the decision to build and would name a site in the first half of 2008.
