VW Beetle: The real Beetle returns, preview of next-next-generation

We have reported earlier that it's rumored that VW is working on a rear-wheel drive VW Beetle based on the VW up! platform. Now this rumor got more substance with a report in German Autobild saying that the new Beetle will come as a manual drive first and with water cooling. Let's see when we can see this car, first the new New Beetle will arrive in 2009 and be based on the current VW Golf V platform with front-wheel drive.
