VW Jetta TSI Sport: Unveiled at Birmingham Auto Show

The VW Jetta TSI Sport has been unveiled at the Birmingham Auto Show in UK and it will make its debut on March 24 in the Volkswagen Racing Cup. .
VW Racing U.K. engineers, with backup from tech partners at Superchips, Milltek Sport and Turbo Dynamics, boosted output from the Jetta's 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine from 167 to 227 horsepower. Last year, the engine was put through its paces in competition under the hood of a Volkswagen Golf. "We learned a lot about the engine during the course of 2007, and we have incorporated that knowledge into the new installation," said Melissa Wright of Volkswagen Racing U.K. "In the right hands and with some development mileage under it, the new car will be a front runner."
