Audi A4 Avant: Adding grace and space
Nice review here of the Audi A4 Avant.
It's based on the same platform as the A4 sedan but with the newly developed, five-link front axle moved further forward to compensate for its longer wheelbase and greater overall length.
The front overhang has been shortened and the bonnet is longer; the new A4 Avant is 4.70m long, almost 120mm longer overall than its predecessor.
Flat D pillars are intended to give the Avant a coupé-like silhouette while strong horizontal lines across the tailgate emphasise its width.
Headlights with LED daytime running lights are becoming an Audi signature; the A4 Avant has 14 LEDS in a dramatic curve below each xenon projector.
