Audi A4 Avant: Adding grace and space

Audi A4 Avant
Nice review here of the Audi A4 Avant.

It’s based on the same platform as the A4 sedan but with the newly developed, five-link front axle moved further forward to compensate for its longer wheelbase and greater overall length.

The front overhang has been shortened and the bonnet is longer; the new A4 Avant is 4.70m long, almost 120mm longer overall than its predecessor.

Flat D pillars are intended to give the Avant a coupé-like silhouette while strong horizontal lines across the tailgate emphasise its width.

Headlights with LED daytime running lights are becoming an Audi signature; the A4 Avant has 14 LEDS in a dramatic curve below each xenon projector.
