Audi R8 V12 TDI: Taking diesel to a new level

Audi R8 V12 TDI
The Audi R8 V12 TDI is a real performance car which takes diesel to a new level.
Considered "a revolution," Audi presented the first 12-cylinder diesel engine concept sports car at the recent Detroit Auto Show.

The V12 TDI, with a displacement of 6 liters, powers the car on an Audi R8 model. It generates 500 hp, writing a new chapter in diesel development.

It must be said that the V12 TDI belongs to Audi's family of V engines, closely related to the Audi R10, the two-time LeMans winner. It catapults the V12 into super-car terrain concerning performance. It sprints from zero to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 205 mph.

The company boasts, "Its sound is as thrilling as you'd expect in a sports car of this caliber. For all the subtle smoothness that typifies this design principle, the 12-cylinder unit is full-bodied and equipped with energetic overtones that make no secret of its performance potential."
