Audi: Another supercar and small SUV considered for US

Johan de Nysschen
Audi is considering to bring the rumored "Audi Q3" and another (!) supercar to the US. Great news for all US Audi lovers!
Audi is considering a small sport/utility vehicle and another supercar as potential additions to its U.S. lineup, a top official said Monday.

Johan de Nysschen, executive vice president of Audi of America, called the small SUV a "lifestyle" product, similar to Toyota's RAV4. The vehicle would be slotted below the Q5, which goes on sale in the United States early next year.

"I think that would be a market segment that would be very interesting," de Nysschen said in a wide-ranging interview.

Audi has previously hinted at the small SUV, which might not be called a "Q"--since the company has a deal with Nissan that lets it use the badge on only the two larger vehicles, the Q5 and the Q7.

De Nysschen didn't offer further details on the supercar. Audi's mid-engine R8 supercar was launched in the United States last September.
