Porsche 914: MIT students build electric Porsche

Porsche 914
If an electric Porsche creates wet dreams for you, these MIT students might have some for you, an electric Porsche 914.

Although this 914 may look like any run-of-the-mill Porsche, it’s in fact very unique. A group of MIT students banded together and modified a 1976 Porsche 914 to be completely electric, powered by 18 lithium-phosphate rechargeable batteries valued at $2030 each.

They estimate that the Porsche will be able to travel 100 miles before needing a charge, and even hit a top speed of 130 miles per hour. Still, they hope to improve its efficiency, performance, range, and even its cost.
