Audi MMI: New Multi Media Interface unveiled

Audi has unveiled their new Multi Media Interface (MMI) which comes with a great new look and a bunch of new features!
To keep you on track, the new system features a built-in navigation system that uses maps stored on the hard drive rather than on DVD, as in the previous system. Storing maps on the hard drive allows Audi to include more detailed maps and a new 3D digital topographical feature that displays pictures of landmarks along the way. Any time a destination is entered, the system will try to come up with three different routes to get there, one of which will be designed to use the least possible amount of gas.
The new MMI will be standard on the A8 in Europe and offered as an upgrade on European Q7s, Q5s (it is expected to make its debut on the new ute this fall), A6s, A5s and A4s. The Music Interface system is a separate upgrade, and on most models, the MMI can be combined with the Bang and Olufsen stereo system for up to 1000 watts of power.
