VW: Planning 2-liter Smart-killer below VW up!

VW Smart killer
Breaking news from VW today: VW is planning a new 2-liter car below the VW up! model line-up, positioned as a Smart ForTwo killer. VW is looking forward to "massively" increase their model line-up in this section and the new 2-liter car will offer space for up to 2 people.

The car will come with front-wheel drive and is based on a shortened version of the VW up! platform. Powertrain will be a 1-liter diesel engine delivering 50bhp.

Launch timing and production facility are not decided yet.
